PAF Tachov - mezinárodní potápěčský festival

• 1 A – amateur films - The film length can be a maximum of 20 minutes including subtitles.
• 1 B – professional films - Films made professionally or with professional participation. There is no time limit for the film length.
• 1 C – beginning author - Category 1C is meant for all authors who wish or who are beginning to present their films and are not sure about participating in categories 1A and 1B in PAF Tachov. The maximum length of a film in the category "Beginning author" is 10 minutes including subtitles.

In a case that u are sending movie on other device than DVD, add please one more copy on DVD device for a pre-selection and translation.

In case one author sends more than one film, each film must be on a separate data medium. In all films, there must be at least 30% of underwater shots. Unless films have a Czech or Slovak running commentary, it is recommended to attach a transcription including a time schedule in English or German. We shall have it translated and films shall be shown in the original version with a translation for the Czech audience. Send your films to the address of the organiser.

Works presenting an interest in the underwater world, even though they may not correspond with the rules and regulations set forth, may be accepted by the pre-selection jury and compete for a special award.

Recommended technical conditions

•    Each film must be recorded at the beginning of the actual medium 
•    No other records shall be on the medium except the competing film

For videotapes of all system is valid the following:

• Before the actual film must be at least 30 seconds black (without any other visual or audio data)
• After the end of the film must be at least 10 seconds of black
• The record must be taped at SP speed
• Videotapes must be rewound at the beginning
• Videotapes must be protected against an erasure.
• Organisers bear no responsibility for an unsecured tape

For DVD is valid the following:

• Before the actual film and after its end must be at least 5 seconds of black (without any other visual or audio data)
• No graphic introductory menu shall be on the DVD except the table menu from table DVD recorders
• No bonuses shall be on the DVD

Following data shall be marked on the medium case:

• exact, unabbreviated name of the film
• format
• exact time length of the film stated in minutes and seconds (measured from the beginning till the end of audio or visual record)
• time length of the initial black (measured from the total beginning of the medium till the first audio-visual record)
• name and full address of the author

At least following data shall be written legibly on the actual medium:

• exact and unabbreviated name of the film
• time length of the film stated in minutes and seconds
• name of the author

Additional information

• The festival takes place in the Community Centre Mže in Tachov, Czech Republic
• Authors have free access to all events held during the PAF Tachov, including Saturday's lectures,  dinner-party and gala evening. Formal dress for the gala evening is welcome.
• Send your own portrait photo for the catalogue and gallery of authors (JPG, size 800x1200 dpi).
• The authors of participating works grant the organisers of the festival the right to publicly present their works at the competition in Tachov, during presentations of winning and other selected works in other Czech towns and as a part of other additional events.
• The organisers undertake not to make any copies of the participating works, except for copies for the travelling show and exhibitions. Participating works shall not be sent back to the authors.
• The participants can book meals in the cafeteria of the local high school adjacent to the cinema Mže and must mark it on their application.  Personally visit application form
