PRESS RELEASE

PAF Tachov 2025 – A festival with international reach and record participation

Tachov, April 6, 2025 – On April 4-5, 2025, the 47th annual International Festival of Diving Films, Photography and Children's Art PAF Tachov took place in the Mže Community Center in Tachov. The festival, whose main organizer is the Czech Divers' Association, was held this year under the co-organizer of the city of Tachov, the Tachov Municipal Cultural Center and the Museum of the Bohemian Forest in Tachov. The festival attracted more than 650 participants from the public, schools and experts, thus confirming its position as one of the most important European festivals focused on underwater art.

A total of 189 children's artworks in four categories (painting, drawing, graphics and ceramics), dozens of films and more than 600 photographic works from authors from all over the world were entered into the festival competitions. In total, artists from 28 countries participated in the festival, which is the highest number of participating countries in history.

The festival offered a rich accompanying program - from school screenings and professional lectures to art workshops for children and exhibition openings. The highlight was the Saturday evening ceremonial screening and the announcement of the competition winners.

"Every year we are surprised by the breadth of topics and the quality of work brought by the competition entries. This year's edition was also a record-breaking one in terms of both international participation and the number of visitors from schools and the public," said the festival president Bohumír Kráčmar.
